About
Hi! We're the Farlow girls.
Jen is a writer, a runner, and a mama to 3-year-old Elissa: precocious lover of people and animals, with an astounding vocabulary and exuberance for life.
On October 5, 2014, we lost the center of our world. Nathan Wells Farlow, Jen's soulmate and Elissa's daddy, was hit and killed by a drunk driver, leaving his two precious girls behind.
I'm a writer, a runner, and a mama to my three-year-old princess Elissa Rose. On October 5, 2014, just weeks after Elissa's birth, I became a widow. My husband Nathan, my high school sweetheart and best friend, was hit and killed by a drunk driver on his way home from work. His death was instant; we never got to say goodbye. The past three years have been a whirlwind of grief in all its forms, as I navigate this new and unwanted life and tackle first-time parenting, alone. I am learning, one day at a time, the secret of finding joy in a broken world, where the pain may never resolve this side of heaven.
Follow my musings - on adventures with Elissa, or early morning runs down dewy, sun-streaked trails. I'd love to hear your story, too.
